Assam is one of the wettest places of the country. It is the land of tea gardens. The cultural heritage of Assam makes it a crucible of cultures.  Assam is the last refugee for numerous endangered species such as Golden langoor, White-winged woodduck, Bengal florican, black -breasted parrot bill, Piggy hog etc. Assam is also known for orchids.
