Gangtok

Gangtok, the Sikkim's capital is aharmonius blend of diverse culture and religion. It is the Sikkims fairytale capital in the clouds ,balanced precariously on the steep mountain slopes surrounded by the lush rice terraces ,floating rivers and distnt snowviews. Sightseeing in Gangtok is lot fun and splendid.Pemayangste monastery, Rumtek monastery, Labrang Monastery are most visited and gives you a calm and peaceful mind.
                                     
Deer park (Rustomji's park) is abig open enclosure ,sheltering animals like the red panda and the himalayan beer. The park commands a spectacular view of the hills and surrounding Gangtok. Khecheopalri lake is so placid ,crystal clear thet not even aleaf can be seen floating over it.
                                     
Gangtok is famous foe Phurchechu Reshi hotsprings near Rashi are considered holy. The holycave called "Kadosangphu" or "cave of occult fairies" is decorated here. Institute of ibetology, Tsuk-La-Kheng monastery are not to be missed.
                                     
On sundays, Gangtok's Lal bazar is amelody of colour and shopping here is a great experience. Gangtok provides tremendous oppurtunities for trekkers to enjoy the terraced landscapes, waterfalls and forests. Trekking, mountain biking,river rafting,mountains, glaciers ,lakes,rivers,passes,hotsprings, waterfalls.... ahhh!!!! what not.. Gangtok is really a splendid place.
