Agartala

Agartala the capital city of Tripura ,is abeautiful world in itself, rich in flora and fauna.It's the store house of rich cultural diversity. It has several diverse ethno-linguists groups,that give rise to composite culture.It possess an extremely rich biodiversity.

Ujjayantha palace is a good tourist place and it grounds two temples- Umneshwar and Jagannatha both of which are ochre in colour. Neermahal is a major tourist destination of Tripura is built in a blend of hindu and mughal architecture.Unakoti represents rock carving and murals from hindu mythology and it means "one less than crore". Kunjaban palace is a major place of attraction and is the official residences of governor of Tripura.

The state musuem  shows rare images and epigraphs.Pilak -- collosal stone idols of Arolokiteshwar and Narasimha are seen in Pilak. It is a treasure house of Hindu and Budhist sculptures. Venuban vihara is a beautiful place.Malancha niwas ,the house where Ravindranath tagore once lived .Large number of lakes in different parts of city add to the charm of Agartala.Damboor lake is spectacular and scenic. Agartala hosts a variety of flora and fauna and has wild sanctuaries like Gondacherra wildlife sanctuary, Sepahijala, Trishur wild life sanctuary.Sephahijala wildlife sanctuary hosts many spectacled monkeys, deer and variety birds.

Temple of fourteen dieties in old Agartala draws thousands of devottees for karchi puja in month of july. A rich and trained tribal culture thriving on high mountains and vast and alluring green valleys adds it own charm to the attraction of the state. The city is market for various commercial goods like tea,rice,jute,oilseed etc. One can get a sheer variety of handicraft and woolen articles for display and sale.
