Hey thanks for sharing such a great information on Sikkim, i have visited sikkim so would like to add my words as per my knowledge about Sikkim was that Sikkim is inhabited by numerous indigenous clans now following an almost Spartan Buddhist way of life. In the 1700s Sikkim was invaded by Nepal and power swung between the Nepalese monarchy and the native Sikkimese until the arrival of the British in India. An alliance with the British enabled Sikkim to attain independence from Nepal and it become a sovereign Kingdom until 1975 when it seceded to India. Through the British reign, Sikkim served as the primary trade route to Tibet, Bhutan and Myanmar giving it great strategic and economic importance.

Great post. Sikkim is a lovely place. I had been to Pemayangtse Monastery and khanchendzonga. On the way to Pemayangtse Monastery, you can view the sunrise and excellent view of the khanchendzonga and the adjoining peaks. From here the Nepal valley can also be seen. The Pemayangtse Monastery is the epicenter of the monastic network of Sikkim that contains the Dzongri, Sangachoeling and Tashiding monasteries.
